Amen. Democracy and liberty of faith are absolutely necessary for real Christianity to take root and thrive. When a church becomes part of the government, it begins to be hollowed out. Look at the unhappy legacy of churches established by law in European countries. The churches are empty and moribund and only God knows if it's possible to revive them.
