Bebe dear sister, this is a glorious column!! I grew up in an agnostic household, started to become a Christian in college and, more than forty years later, am still in process! One thing which I’ve been saying (and I hope it infuses everything I write, songs and all) is that a robust, living faith welcomes honest questions, can answer criticism cogently, give mockery a pitying smile and spurns more help from the state other than its neutrality; it is a brittle and already-moribund creed which seeks to squelch honest questions, criticisms and mockery and begs the state for help in doing so into the bargain! Feedback from you will be much appreciated.
