Depends on how that's construed. If you understand it the way most people do, you're unfortunately right. But how Jesus intended it is quite different. He was very specific about the RIGHT cheek.
In that time and place, the only use for the left hand was to clean one's rear. So the right hand was used for everything else. And the only way to hit someone that way is a backhand slap. if you turn the left cheek to them, they must make a fist to hit you.And in that time and place, if you hit someone that way, you effectively acknowledged them as your equal. In other words, you turn their 'keep-your-place' message into a situation where they cannot but acknowledge you as an equal!
