Good point. Maybe that's why I was 'nudged' out of divinity school in 1983 by an unctuous dean who had concluded I was too fond of females (I was 27 and single; what did anyone expect?) to be a man of the cloth. That remains a scar to this day.

And maybe that's why my wife is being ignored and discouraged at our current parish. She certainly feels crucified, in a way.
