I can't help but sadly wonder: what happened to all those wonderfully aggressive women who were upfront about their sexual desires back when I graduated from high school (about the time you, Yael, were born if I remember right) and whose wonderful honesty and willingness to do at least some of the courting put us young dudes on Cloud 9?
I remember two songs from the 70s which touched on this: Peter McCann's Do You Wanna Make Love (Or Just Fool Around) and Crosby, Stills & Nash's Fair Game? And I don't know about other young men, but I loved the possibility of being chased! I think I missed the beginning of the reaction to that in the early 80s. Afterwards, in my youthful masculine naivete, put it down to female hypocrisy. Typical male response, right? I can only say, when I've been the object of female desire I never thought the woman was a slut, just human like me.
