I listen to NPR NOT because of its social cachet or anything as specious and ethereal as that but because they seem to tell more truth than nearly anyone else and because it's somewhat less tainted with coporate bias as heard in their stories about the kinds of people other media don't consider worth featuring. As a Christian, I believe Jesus is usually easier to find among the marginalized. Although NPR has no official creed, they seem to treat these people as--well, like people. Which is more than many others do. Besides, A Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols is positively unbeatable!
