I’ll bet good money most of us don’t have such a ‘village’. I’m happily married, and we each have a car and a small family of pets (3) but we are also isolated in Tennessee about an hour and fifteen minutes west of Knoxville and almost two hours east of Nashville. It can be a big difference to have one’s own transport, but the difference for us is one of degree, not of kind.
