I'm in my sixties now and much of what you describe is most definitely NOT the country I grew up in. I suspect 1980 was the fatal (?) turning point at which we started to become a psychopathic nation. Yes, it wouldn't have taken without the HUGE amount of fuel for psychopathology in most of the pasty-faced majority here but things would have probably been different had The Great Rondini not been elected president. Many of his voters wanted to punch down, which they did, and that ugliness continues even unto this present moment. We need to explore this horrifically wrong turn further.
