I'm not sure how many Americans DID know what the GOP planned to attack. Aided by Faux News and networks further rightward, they were reminded that Trump said 'Don't touch Social Security' to the GOP and many of them want to believe he was telling the truth. Faux News et al. made as IF he was telling the truth.

But we'll all find out.
