It seems to me some of these Adult Male Hominids (I'm profoundly uncertain about calling them 'men') could have used something you apparently didn't think to give them: either your fist in their a**hole faces or, at least, a good hard slap!

Some will say that such an act might have rendered them homicidal, but I'd bet a little cash that they would have crumpled into tears or at least left you feeling less abject as they glared 'b***h' at you on their way out. That's what bullies usually do when faced with real resistance.
