I've heard that unleavened bread (matzo) were actually the first pizza crusts and that Roman legionnaires put cheese, herbs, veggies and oil on them to make the first pizzas. Maybe during the year that Titus just sat outside Jerusalem's walls while the Jews inside made war on each other, the Roman soldiers had pizza-making contests. Who knows?
