Lately I've been pondering a piece of Lady Chatterley's Lover where Mellors is saying some fairly profound things, which end with him saying, "It's all this cold-hearted f***ing that is death and idiocy." (it should also be noted that Lawrence described sex as if men were the 'active' ones and women the more 'passive' ones. Still, I hope his drawbacks don't obscure the truths in his writings)
Then I ask myself, how can domination-, or power-f***ing, be anything BUT cold-hearted? And I realize this only in my sixties?! Or does being a pale male sort of hinder discovering that?
I might be expanding this to a post but I'd appreciate feedback on this note including whether it's 'expandable.
