Mallory, how much historical backgound do you have? I'm genuinely curious about this. Do you know that, in 1920, the prospects were pretty good for a Jewish-Arab confederation under the joint auspices of Prince Faisal and Chaim Weizmann? Until anti-Semites in the British High Command sponsored Haj Amin el-Husseini as Mufti of Jerusalem. And have you heard a saying common among the Arabs from the 1930s even unto this day, thus: "Palestine (or, as often as Palestine, South Syria) is ours and the Jews are our dogs"? And this is what burns Arab behinds even now: that a people they looked on as their 'dogs' keep beating them in war and have resurrected their nation-state and made it a serious success story. Isn't this attitude a lot like those of our peckerwoodies who used to be able to lie to themselves about still being 'better than the best colored [person]'? Seriously. Think about it.
