Not to mention one thing Huey Long NEVER did in ANY of his campaigns was...wait for it...RACE-BAIT!!

In ALL his campaigns that is one thing he never did! And this in a time when most Southern politicians were convinced they had to do at least a little race-baiting if they wanted to stay in office! He also said this of African-Americans: "Treat them the same as anyone else; give 'em the chance to make a decent living." And he said it in the Jim Crow South of the 1930s! For that, too, he has my respect!
