Reading that in its context, I am reminded of what happened to a town in the diocese of Trier, during the hysteria about witchcraft. I heard that, when the hysteria was over, only two--repeat, TWO--females remained in that town: a grandmother and a five-year-old child. That was all.

I've no idea if the men of that town found other women or whether the town was deserted and lost to memory. I'm very much inclined to feel it deserved the latter. As will the state of Missouri and any other state pursuing such evil as this!
