Thank you for writing this. I am an aging paleface of Southern 'scalawag' heritage. I can't say I share your feelings in the same way but there have been times when I wondered if I could stop my rage at the hypocrisy, brutality. selfishness and cowardly paranoia of my 'fellow' American palefaces from consuming me. Remembering John Lewis and ingesting Imani Perry's words are helpful in keeping such rage in its proper place are helpful for me, too. Thanks again.
