Too true. These dough-faces who run on hatred wanted to reaffirm what LBJ said to a young Bill Moyers in 1964, viz.

"If you can convince the lowest white man he's better than the best colored man, he won't notice you're picking his pocket. Hell, give him someone to look down on and he'll empty his pockets for you."

Unfortunately, low whites are not unique in feeling this way. But that's what happened: the trash elected one of their own in an effort to reaffirm what LBJ said.
