Word to both sides: whatever you do, you both will have to reckon with people from the neck down. Our enemies live (and, let's hope, may die) by human irrationality. It does no good to either pretend our amygdalae and our guts either don't exist or to declare war on them. I suspect too many leftists want to do the latter; I know too many liberals do the former.
